Figurative Artwork.
Goldfish, a passion of mine recently. Living in Japan I adored the prints
of fish on the walls of restaurants and bars. The 'kingyo' or goldfish is
an often used in paintings, especially the 'Koi', a species often found in
ponds, depicted in scenes of manicured gardens and pristine settings. I
prefer the oddities and movement of the sometimes awkward fancy goldfish, or in
Japanese 'deme kingyo', literaly translated to 'out eye gold fish', referring to
the eyes of some varieties in which sacs develop behind or around the eyes of
the fish. Here are some of my drawings of Goldfish, note the sizes range
from mural to hand size drawings.
